Neil is a founder of the Talk Talk group which supplies voice, broadband and TV services to over 4 million residential customers and 250,000 businesses. He is a member of the council and board of governors of the University of Manchester and actively promotes enterprise and technology in Greater Manchester. He is a chartered engineer, a fellow of the Institutes of Engineering and Technology & Mechanical Engineers. He received an MBE for services to engineering in 1992. Neil is the founder and chairman of Hamilton Davies Trust.
